Question:I feel worse in the city. I this the pollution?
Answer:Maybe. Urban life in the 21st century places enormous stresses and strains on both mind and body. Although city life can be stimulating and exciting, it also exposes us to air pollution, noise pollution, unhealthy working and travelling environments, and even toxins from other people such as infectious bacteria or cigarette smoke. These toxins work against our bodies, affecting our immune systems, stress levels and thought processes.

If you' re an urbanite, there are plenty of ways to deal with the pressure. Make sure you have nutritious snacks like fruits and nuts with you to keep your energy up instead of the ubiquitous teas and coffees, avoid busy roads where you can, drink 2 litres of filtered or bottled water throughout the day, avoid junk and fast foods (on almost every corner in many cities), and instead eat nutritious and antioxidant-rich foods like green leafy vegetables, berries, fresh fruits, red, yellow and orange vegetables, garlic and onions. By protect-ing your body from the stresses and pollution that city life brings, you can be free to enjoy all that cities have to offer, whether you seek work or pleasure.
